StorAge is the era we live in. The age of techno-pathologies, of hoarding data and intangible objects, of frantic rush to expand storage space due to the chronic inability to choose what to delete from memory. Monstrous amounts of digital memories related to moments we have deliberately chosen not to physically experience. StorAge is the imaginative tale of the power of technology clashing with its intrinsic fragility. It’s the speed of innovation versus its own obsolescence. StorAge is our world seen from a future where our world no longer exists.

The lost drive

An archaeological discovery, released by the melting ice of a world forced to start over. A device with digital information about the biggest natural events to ever take place on planet Earth, recounting the story of that same nature that, at the time, we had chosen not to experience, but rather memorize, merely reproducing its appearance and behavior.

The collection

StorAge is a collection of 12 audiovisual works of generative art created through the use of machine learning algorithms. For each one, Artificial Intelligence produced hundreds of images, which, combined in sequence, made up a video. Each work has the ambition of abstractly depicting an evolutionary episode of life on Earth: from the planet’s development to the evolution of all forms of life, and the environmental catastrophes that marked the extinction of some of them.

A less fragile knowledge

Since we are living in the StorAge, storing the world's information through secure decentralized protocols is one of the most effective ways of preserving our civilization’s knowledge, ensuring it can reach future generations and make world history a little less fragile.

The album

StorAge is also an album consisting of 12 original songs that inspired the creation of the visual works. Songs ranging from experimental ambient to unstructured minimal techno-trance, always with cinematic atmospheres, mainly created with the use of analog synthesizers.

The album will be available in both digital and physical format.

Who made this?

Reno (aka Marco Solferini) is a music producer, illustrator and video maker. Amongst the Italian pioneers of synthwave, Reno has been active in the music scene since 2012. In 2020 he released his first LP, titled “2020”, for Tataki Records - Peer Music: a collection of his own synthwave and cyberpunk productions.

While Reno's production of visual art is wide and diversified, StorAge represents his first official published collection of works.
